Moonstone crystal explained
Moonstone is a Feldspar mineral. It has a white milky appearance that flashes with colour in the light. There are other types of moonstone such as black moonstone, peach moonstone and rainbow moonstone. Although it is worth noting that rainbow moonstone is actually a type of labradorite so not actually a moonstone at all.
Moonstone has been used for thousands of years. The ancient Romans believed that moonstone was a moonbeam in physical form. As such it has a long association with the moon and lunar deities.
Moonstone should not be put into water. Instead, charge your moonstone under the full moon. It is also safe to use the sun to charge your moonstone. Some say that doing this will balance out the moonstones energy.
By no surprise, moonstone corresponds with the moon. Moonstone is linked to the third eye, sacral and crown chakras. Star signs associated with moonstone are Cancer, Capricorn, Libra, and Gemini. Moonstone corresponds with the water element and both Ostara and Samhain on the Pagan wheel of the year.
